“We The People”
by Seeds
2001 song
"We The People" was first officially released on the 2008 CD Back To The Garden, a collaboration between Sky Saxon and Michael Oak. But it was actually first made available on an obscure 2001 CD-r called Golden Vaults Volume 1: Timeless. On that homemade mail-order album, "We The People" was credited to “Seeds” (no “The”) and was in low sound quality, though the same recording. Back To The Garden‘s liner notes name Marianna DePello as a background singer on "We The People"; Marianna was Sky’s wife around the time of Golden Vaults and helped Sky put that CD together. TheĀ Back To The Garden recording is in clear sound quality.
The message of "We The People" is positive and inclusive: we’re all together, let’s get together, etc. Sky as starry-eyed 1960s true believer.
