“Love Dog”
by Sky Sunlight Saxon and Fire Wall
1986 song
Sky Saxon recorded the song "Love Dog" in 1986 for his first album with Fire Wall, Destiny's Children. It also appeared on the French version of that LP, ...A Groovy Thing. Both of these albums (and thus "Love Dog") were credited to Sky Sunlight Saxon/Fire Wall.
This same recording of "Love Dog", a crunchy garage rock stomper with classic Sky-isms like “feel my paws, come check me out”, was also included on the grab-bag Takes & Glories LP from Germany in 1987 in a different and punchier mix. This "Love Dog" also sports new overdubbed vocals from Cleopatra, whom Sky worked with when recording with the band SS-20. That album is credited to Sky Sunlight Saxon and The Original Seeds although this song is actually by Sky and the Fire Wall band.
Sky Saxon recorded "Love Dog" again in 1990 for his Breakin' Through The Doors CD with his new band Dragonslayers. The title was changed on this version to "Love Dog Always".
