“I’ll Help You (Carry Your Money To The Bank)”

by The Sky Saxon Blues Band
1967 song

Daryl Hooper’s spidery organ is in the ascendant on The Sky Saxon Blues Band’s song "I'll Help You (Carry Your Money To The Bank)". Tightly wound and relentlessly in motion, the song appears on The Seeds’ controversial 1967 LP A Full Spoon Of Seedy Blues. Sky Saxon, in something of a state, offers his usual Dylan-meets-Captain Beefheart vocals, and is enjoying himself enough to toss off a rare “ha ha!” before the keyboard solo.

"I'll Help You (Carry Your Money To The Bank)" was recorded in five takes on September 23, 1966; take 5 was chosen for the album. The session also produced "Moth And The Flame" and the unreleased outtake “Show Me The Way”. The harmonica on "I'll Help You (Carry Your Money To The Bank)" was presumably played by Sky himself.
