“Get Naked”
by The Fuzztones with Sky Saxon
2003 song
Diabolical fuzz rockers The Fuzztones invited Sky Saxon to add guest vocals to the song "Get Naked" on their 2003 album Salt For Zombies. Most of the song is sung by Fuzztones singer Rudi Protrudi; Sky only comes in (after Protrudi excitedly yells his name, as if summoning a psychedelic Beetlejuice) about the 2:00 mark.
"Get Naked", an exhortation for listeners (and, society in general) to do just that, has a warm and slightly buzzed feel. All the elements that garage rock fans want are fully present and accounted for: deep-fried guitar riff; ping-ponging two-chord sashay for the verses; glowing Farfisa organ; and snotty, demanding vocals. When Sky comes in he picks up the baton from Protrudi without hesitation – getting naked sounds like a good idea to him.
Salt For Zombies was released on both CD and vinyl LP. "Get Naked" also appears on the 2009 Fuzztones compilation Lysergic Legacy, but only the CD version (not the LP).
