“Creepin’ About”
by The Sky Saxon Blues Band
1967 song
“Well I pull the wings off flies,” brags reprobate Sky Saxon on "Creepin' About" from The Sky Saxon Blues Band’s 1967 LP A Full Spoon Of Seedy Blues. “I make little girls cry.” It’s a role that came naturally to Sky – however true it may or may not have been, he sure loved the idea of being an individualistic outlaw, a devilish force to be frightened of.
Actually, in later years he probably recoiled when remembering that he once sang about torturing one of god’s creatures. But no matter; on "Creepin' About", recorded by The Seeds with members of Muddy Waters’ band in October 1966, he settles happily and eagerly into the character. “Watch out, ’cause I’m creepin’ about,” he warns everyone. Especially those little girls.
"Creepin' About" is the penultimate song on the album. Some of the LP’s songs are noisier, some are quieter; some are long and some are short. "Creepin' About" is situated in the middle of the record’s extremes.
