“Come-A Here Right Now”
by Sky Sunlight Saxon/Fire Wall
1988 song
Sky Sunlight Saxon and Fire Wall’s 1988 album World Fantastic includes the unusual track "Come-A Here Right Now", the song that also closes the French version of the LP, ...In Search Of Brighter Colors. "Come-A Here Right Now" marries two separate types of music – dramatic and plodding midsection and punchy rock choruses. Fire Wall was a good band, but on "Come-A Here Right Now" the transitions between the two styles are stumbling – so much so that it seems like it was on purpose. We like to think it was, anyway.
"Come-A Here Right Now" also features a glimpse into Sky Saxon’s Elvis-like low croon, which he would break out very occasionally in his career afterwards. This is an odd song but not so much that it sounds out of place on either album. Just more adventurous and warped studio fun from a band of goofy travelers.
