“Booty”
by Sky Sunlight Saxon and Flights
2006 song
A sweaty hard-rock come-on, Sky Sunlight Saxon and Flights’ snarling "Booty" is all fire and menace and guitar heroics. Sky lets his brain run free, his mouth letting the word tumble out without editing. Most of them are based around the idea of “shaking your booty for peace”. A nice idea, if it works.
"Booty" appears on the Ken Dembinski-Sky Saxon collaboration album Tyrants In The House. It was released in 2006 and re-released in 2009. While much of the album is somber and earnest, other parts of it like "Booty" offer a lightness that balances out the whole, and it’s nice to hear Sky working himself up into more of a lather as the song continues. “Shake your booty one more time for me, one more time for my dog,” he implores. Who can argue with that?
