With a sudden dash of funky rhythm and a noisy, electrified guitar sting, "Bend" takes the Tyrants In The House album on a humorless detour. Sky uses the forcefulness of the music to implore those of rigid thinking to bend a little – obstinacy is how wars start, after all.
Guitarist Ken Dembinski, who did all the music for "Bend" on the project credited as Sky Sunlight Saxon and Flights, finds a way to demand attention while remaining in a safe-seeming, relaxed space. "Bend" rocks, but gently, off in its own corner. Sky does a lot to accentuate this feel as well; his lyrics are frightening but his tone is warm and even, dare we say it, groovy.
