“As Much As I Love You”
by Sky Sunlight Saxon and The Original Seeds
1987 song
The first track on Sky Sunlight Saxon’s super-strange 1987 German LP Takes & Glories is called "As Much As I Love You". A concurrent recording, musically "As Much As I Love You" is an exact copy of The Seeds’ classic "Can't Seem To Make You Mine". Sky, however, has completely rewritten the lyrics and uses a different vocal melody on this version. So, it’s kind of a half-remake of the 1965 garage rock nugget. "As Much As I Love You" gets Takes & Glories off to an appropriately unusual start.
