“Chapel Of Love”
by King Arthur's Court
2005 song
The five-minute piece "Chapel Of Love" (no relation to the 1960s pop song) opens with the sound of gently running water, as befits the nature-psych realm of A Spring Honeymoon With God & Family. A light guitar and heavily atmospheric electric piano then take over, the King Arthur’s Court musicians responding to the vibes of California’s Mt. Shasta where the CD was recorded in 2005. They move through some lengthy single-chord sections for a bit but transition into the occasional unexpected detour. Like all good psychedelic music.
Djin Aquarian’s gorgeous acoustic guitar becomes quite energized at times but that’s relative to the rest of the music which is, per the CD’s habit, careful and distractedly stoned. The only singing comes towards the end, when Djin repeats variations of the song’s title "Chapel Of Love", which was inspired by a place called “the Church” on Mt. Shasta where the member of King Arthur’s Court spent time with some local residents. “We orchestrated the flow of our being to the local vibes in their own respective musical realm,” as Djin put it.
Sky Saxon does not appear on "Chapel Of Love".
